Costa Brava Golf:

Day 1:

Met on arrival at Barcelona airport. Pick up your rental van and drive to Roses

Overnight: Almadraba Park Hotel

Day 2:

Golf at Club de Golf Peralada

A relaxing pleasant par 71 of 5,990 meters. No great elevation changes make it suitable for all levels of golfers. Beautiful vistas of the Pyrennes mountains on a clear day. Located in the Peralada Resort, which also includes the wine cellars, the Castle, the Casino and a Wine Spa Center.

Day 3:

Free day to tour to Figueres

Overnight: Hotel Emporda

Built in 1961 and located one kilometre from the center of Figueres, this three-star hotel is known for its cuisine thanks to the pioneering, modern-Catalan cuisine produced in its restuarant. A comfortable stay is assured in the 39 rooms and 3 suites equipped with hydromassage bath, telephone, air conditioning, satellite television, minibar, individual safe and terrace. Day 4:

Golf at Torremirona Golf Club

A varied and complete 18 hole course of 6,184 meters from the back tees. Built in 1993, the first 9 holes are technical with narrow fairways, vegetation and water (the 5th green is an island!). The back-nine is essentially flat and has broad fairways making more relaxed play. Great location again offers, wonderful views of the Girona Pyremees and the bay of Roses.

Day 5:

Day free to tour the amazing Dali Museum and Sant Ferran Castle

The Dalí museum is one of the most interesting and popular museums in Northern Spain. Figueres was Dalí's home town and the museum is home to one of the largest collections of his work. Even the building itself is a work of art and like no other you would have seen before. We highly recommended this museum.

Situated atop a hill, at the end of Pujada del Castell, this is a large military fortification built in the 18th century under the orders of various military engineers. It occupies a surface area of 32 hectares within a perimeter running 3,120 metres, while the tanks under the parade ground can hold 40 million litres of water. Sant Ferran Castle, which could hold 6,000 men, is a first-rate heritage feature, the largest monument in Catalonia and the largest ramparted fortress in 18th century Europe.

Day 6:

Golf at Emporda

Permanent host of the PGA Pre-Qualifying School II European Tour, the “Links” and “Forest” courses at Emporda Golf Resort are visually stunning and exceptionally well maintained. The Links course features six sets of tees, extensive greens, large, dunes, bunkers and plenty of water to test your nerve.

On the Forest course shade, water, trees and silence are the key elements which winds its way among a forest of pine tree under the watchful eye of the Castle of Montgri. The Forest is our office favorite but what about considering a combination of two nine from each course or playing all day with an unlimited-golf special rate.

Following golf drive to Pals

Overnight: Hotel Mas Salvi

A seventeenth-century farmhouse in the protected green-zone of Carmany in Pals, Costa Brava. Day 7:

Day excursion to Pals and the coastal towns in the area.

Well signposted from the Torroella de Montgri-Palafrugell road, the old quarter of Pals sits atop a hill 6km north-west of Begur. The medieval town was destroyed and abandoned during the Civil War, and then painstakingly restored after 1948 by a local character, one Dr Pi in Figueras, in a thirty-year labour of love.

Plaja de Pals golden sands, 6km northeast of the medieval town of Pals. Shelving fairly gently, the sea is very good for swimming, and there are stands along the length of the beach renting windsurfing equipment or kayaks. The red and white masts that frame the beach are all that is left of Radio Liberty, a United States station which broadcast propaganda to the Eastern bloc during the Cold War.

Day 8:

Golf at Club Golf d’Aro-Masnou

Established in 1990, this 6,800 yard (from the backs) course with a slope of 126 is spectacularly positioned almost 1,000 feet above sea-level in the Les Gavarres mountains. Many of the holes provide stunning views of the Costa Brava coastline, the Mountain Montseny and the Valley “La Selva”. Surrounded by pine trees and cork oaks as well as over one thousand olive trees. Honored in 1992 by the “European Society of Golf Course Architects”. Located in the Costa Brava – voted as the 2000 “Best emerging golf destination” by the IAGTO (International Association Golf Tour Operators).

After golf drive south to Barcelona

Golf at PGA de Catalunya

Located in the village of Caldes de Malavella close to Girona, and only 50 minutes from Barcelona in the Costa Brava area of Catalunya; PGA Golf de Catalunya was designed by Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles, who put their knowledge gleaned from more than 25 years on the European tour into this project. It was voted one of the ten best golf courses in Europe in 2001 by Golf World magazine and the course has already hosted the Sarazen World Open in 1999 and the Spanish Open in 2000. The course design has been adapted to incorporate the rolling landscape and spectacular mountain views. A technical course which suits both amateurs and professionals alike and boasts some truly spectacular holes. PGA Catalunya is course is not to be missed.

Day 10:

Free day to explore Barcelona - Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and is the second largest city in Spain. Barcelona is a tourist destination with a rich cultural heritage. The architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner are particularly renowned, and are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. To a greater extent than the rest of Catalonia, where Catalonia's native Catalan is more dominant, Barcelona is a bilingual city: Catalan and Spanish are both official and widely spoken. The Catalan spoken in Barcelona, Central Catalan, is the one closest to standard Catalan. Since the arrival of democracy, the Catalan culture (repressed during the dictatorship) has been promoted, both by recovering works from the past and by stimulating the creation of new works.
