East of Ireland: 7 days / 6 nights in Superior 4* Hotels / 5 rounds of golf Day 1: Depart from the USA for Ireland; all flights are overnight. Allow for the 5 hour time difference from EST. Enjoy dinner and the movie on board. Day 2: You will be met on arrival at Dublin airport in the early morning by an AtlanticGolf representative who is there to welcome you to Ireland and assist you in any way necessary. Pick up your rental vehicle or meet your driver and drive into the city.
Check into the unique School House Hotel for 4 nights. Dublin is a young and vibrant city with a long historic past. The hotel is in the embassy district and close to a wide range of attractions, stores, pubs and restaurants. Day 3: Following a hearty Irish breakfast, head off to Brittas Bay in county Wicklow, south of the city. Wicklow is known as the Garden of Ireland with the Irish Sea on its East coast and mountains and lakes in abundance also. Golf at the European Club Carts available
Following golf, consider some sightseeing en route back to Dublin: Glendalough is Ireland’s most important early Christian settlement and the Gardens at Powerscourt are spectacular. Day 4: Following a hearty Irish breakfast, head off to Donabate, a seaside town about 30 minutes north of the city. Golf at the Island Caddies and carts are available
Following golf, consider some sightseeing on the north Dublin coast such as the fishing village of Skerries and Malahide Castle is always worth a stop. Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel, then off to the “north side” to the seaside village of Portmarnock. The drive is about 30 minutes, but get advice from the hotel on the traffic situation. Golf at Portmarnock Carts, caddies and a practice area available
After your round relax in the Harry Bradshaw room with a sandwich and maybe a pint of Guinness. Back to the city for the last night there. Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel before the trip to Baltray in county Louth, an hour north of the city, on the Irish Sea. The golf course is titled County Louth Golf Club, but is known in Ireland by its place name. Golf at Baltray Carts available all year; caddies in the summer. Practice facility/range
Following golf here, off you go to Newcastle in county Down for one night at the Burrendale Hotel. Remember you are now in Northern Ireland and the currency is sterling. Day 7: Newcastle is a small town in a lovely location, so maybe a stroll around before/after going to the course. Golf at Royal Country Down Caddies available, no carts. Following golf, transfer to Portrush in county Antrim. You take the route via the outskirts of Belfast and through Ballymena to the Antrim coast. Allow two hours and if you have time, check out the Giants Causeway, one of the wonders of the world.
Check into the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae for two night. You will be impressed with the scenic location. Day 8: Portrush is the venue today. After breakfast drive The 5 miles to the course. You will play the championship course, Dunluce; if times permits consider a warm up round on the Valley course, a not inconsiderable challenge. Golf at Royal Portrush Dunluce Course
If you missed the Giants Causeway yesterday, you should see it today. One of Ireland’s “must-sees”; it is a UNESCO designated world site and only 15 minutes drive. Day 9: Alas the trip is over, we hope you enjoyed it; your flight home will be from Belfast (90 mins or Dublin (3.5 hrs), so drive carefully.
