The Northern Links 8 days / 7 nights in Superior hotels / 6 rounds of golf Day 1: Depart from the USA for Ireland; all flights are overnight. Allow for the 5 hour time difference from EST. Enjoy dinner and the movie on board. Day 2: You will be met on arrival at Dublin or Belfast airports in the early morning by an AtlanticGolf representative who is there to welcome you to Ireland and assist you in any way necessary. Pick up your rental vehicle or meet your driver and transfer to Newcastle in county Down. This is a 75 minute trip from Belfast airport or 2 hours from Dublin.
Check into the Burrendale Hotel for one night; remember you are now in Northern Ireland and the currency is sterling. Day 3: After breakfast, pack your bag again as you will be traveling to Donegal following golf. Golf at Royal County Down Caddies available, no carts.
Day 4: Enjoy breakfast before you experience Nick Faldo’s most recent makeover in Ireland. Golf at Ballyliffin Old Caddies & carts available
You should get into the minivan and see a bit of the countryside; there are some excellent restaurants in the surrounding villages – Carndonagh and Buncrana. Day 5: Pack up again, enjoy breakfast and head down the road to the golf club to play Pat Ruddy’s northern masterpiece. Pat is the owner and designer of the European Club in county Wicklow. Golf at Ballyliffin Glashedy Caddies & carts available Day 6: One of the country’s Hidden Gems is on the agenda today. Enjoy breakfast (particularly the “Ulster Fry” before heading to Castlerock, a small Victorian town west of Portstewart. Golf at Castlerock
If you are a history buff, you might be interested in visiting Hezlett House, a 17th century thatched farmhouse now owned by the National Trust. Check into the quaint Bushmills Inn for 3 nights. The Bushmills Distillery (oldest distillery in the world) is a few minutes away, (home of the oldest distillery in the world). Day 7: Portrush is the venue today; after breakfast, drive the 5 miles to the course. You will play the championship course, the Dunluce. If times permits consider a warm up round on the Valley course, a not inconsiderable challenge. Golf at Royal Portrush Caddies & carts available; practice facility
The Giants Causeway yesterday, is one of Ireland’s “must-sees”; it is a UNESCO designated world site and only 15 minutes away. Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel, then drive 10 minutes along the coast to Portstewart, whose 3 mile stretch of golden sand known as Portstewart Strand is owned by the National Trust. The club has two courses - you will play the championship Strand links. Golf at Portstewart
This is the last night of your trip. Find a good pub and drown your sorrows and resolve to come back again and play better next time! Day 9: Alas the trip is has come to an end and we truly hope you enjoyed it. Your flight home will be from Belfast (90 mins) or Dublin (3.5 hrs), so drive carefully.
